The Priority of Faith Over Knowledge

Mark 15:33-41
There is a following of Jesus that sometimes is under-shadowed, but can often make a significant impact for the gospel of Jesus. From the time of the trial of Jesus, Roman guards were witnesses to the interrogation, commenced the beating of Jesus, led Jesus to carry His cross, as well as commanded Simon of Cyrene to finish carrying the cross, and confirmed the death of Jesus. After experiencing each of these moments, one centurion expressed that Jesus was “truly the Son of God”. As a result, the centurion exemplified prioritizing faith over knowledge.
Matthew 28:11-15
After the resurrection of Jesus, the elders gather together for counsel. After hearing the news of the resurrection of Jesus the elders took action to control the knowledge of the events that took place by bribing the soldiers to “Tell people, His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep” (Matt. 28:13). Some people have a lot of questions about Jesus, and rightly so as He is the most impactful individual throughout history. But if all you seek is knowledge from Him, you will miss the peace and power that faith has to direct the knowledge we gain to live a life with meaning.
Take a step of faith, like the centurion, and allow your faith to speak of the Knowledge you have of Christ to encourage someone else today.
