Meaningful Relationship

Do you ever take time to acknowledge how meaningful the relationships are that you have? We can quickly identify the relationships that we enjoy and consistently make time for. But what about the ones that we long for and deep down could not live without? Those types of relationships we should be willing to sacrifice and suffer for.
Daniel 3
In the third chapter of Daniel, we see the value and extent in which Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were willing to go for God.  King Nebuchadnezzar had set up a statue for the nation and all their captives to worship whenever they heard music playing. Even through the celebratory inauguration that they would have attended, they were decisive and determined to worship God alone.
Daniel 3:15-18 expresses the strength of their commitment to worship God. The argument could be made that their mind was made up before the announcement of Nebuchadnezzar’s statue was inaugurated, and ultimately their commitment was tested with their life. Having like-minded friends is valuable, but it wasn’t because they were each other; it was their determination to worship God that gave them comfort.
The meaningful relationship we have with God through Jesus Christ needs to be at the level of being willing to suffer for Him. The only way this level of commitment is developed is through having a determination to worship God and God alone.
Take steps of determination to worship God with your life, whether you’re alone or in community, regardless of the outcome.
