The Build Up

Following the steps and actions to build something will give opportunities to express the motivation and focus of why you are building something. When a laser-focused effort is put forth to build something, the reasoning for the effort is more than just obtained knowledge and ability; it reveals what is believed and leads to the result of tested strength. The closing opportunities that the apostle Paul had with the leaders that he developed in Ephesus reassured the gospel as the supreme knowledge, and reason to lead every day God gave him to live.
Paul expresses two character traits that need to be a part of every Christian’s character. The first is humility. Paul reminded them of his ministry coming to them with humility that endured trials with tears, revealing the love that was given despite the opposition and rejection he experienced (Acts 20:18). Despite the opposition of the Jews, Paul ministered from a position of innocence by standing on and teaching the whole counsel of Scripture (Acts 20:26-27).
Paul’s motivation of seeking to encourage the church leaders was because his desire to build healthy churches and he knew this would be the last time he would see them again (Acts 20:25), and concludes his encouragement to them by commending them to God and the word His grace, which is able to build up (Acts 20:32). The message of the church has not changed, in fact it should be stronger because of the depth of the early church members and lived out with the same conviction and purified that Paul displayed. The purity of a Christian life is given because of Jesus, but it’s displayed through the motivation of the actions that we as Christians make.
Takes steps in life to build up the church by living because of the gospel, which allows us to spread the gospel.  When we live because of the gospel, we reveal that we believe the gospel.
