How does God help others through scoffers?

As believers we should resist the urge to smirk or scoff at other people. Solomon said that a “scoffer is the name of the arrogant” (Proverbs 21:24). This knee jerk reaction may have it’s roots in the truth of God, but without adding compassion to our path of our communication, arrogance can be all that people see. Which will blind them to the love of Jesus.

Trying to correct people is not the goal, but to bring them to God and let His Word be expereinced and lead them to the love of Jesus is the mission. God, being who He is, is not kept from being able to help people through scoffers, but not in a way that anyone would want to experience. A scoffer can help others when they are struck or punished according to Solomon (Proverbs 19:25 ; 21:11). This process may even have a double reward. The onlookers receive the benefit of gaining wisdom through someone else mistake, but hopefully the scoffer learns that the path of life is not the best way to interact with others.

So seek to be considerate of others position and be patient in their receiving the truth of God’s word.
