We need to be careful not to confuse humility with ignorance. Some might think that the only acceptable form of humility is when someone is lacking knowledge. This path of thinking may come from the awareness of someone always better than you. This approach to humility is not good enough, because what happens if you reach the top? The a battle of expectation begins. Honest humility is kept when we keep our focus on God which forces us to acknowledge our position as God’s creatures. Succeeding in having humility benefits the Lord, because by our humility God may know what is our hearts.

Deuteronomy 8:2

As we accept a path of humility we wait and experience another step in our faith. That step is to see God work and go before and lift us up higher than we could lift ourselves.
