Enough

Proverbs 25:16 says that if we find honey we should only take enough for our selves lest we vomit it up. Which the foundation of the argument of taking things in moderation. Later on in Proverbs there’s another perspective presented. This perspective is to help us keep the Lord as our source.

It starts off sounding like a very mediocre position. Remove far from me falsehood and lying; give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with the food that is needful for me, (Proverbs 30:8). But the next verse expresses the goal of some’s life who prays these words to God. It says: lest I be full and deny you and say “Who is the Lord?” or lest I be poor and steal and profane the name of my God. - Proverbs 30:9.

May be we only struggle with one of those outcomes. Most people in America don’t need to steal and profane the trust that we express we have in the Almighty God. But I bet most of us hint struggle of denying Him because our culture is so caught up in striving after more than we need.

Remember that today as we look around our bountiful life. We may even need to question if we are losing the path of the Lord and simply motivated because of what we know is possible in this life and end up ignoring the next life God is preparing for us.
